How to finally "COMMIT" to losing weight

Commitment Commitment Commitment!!!!!!!!!  If only this word knows how important and often it has been mentioned, it will just comply πŸ˜€

How many times have you mentioned to your friend that your challenge is just commitment to this weight loss? If only you can commit to this routine, that you would have achieved a size 8 or 10?

Countless times right? I know, weight loss/fitness is one thing I discuss daily too so I totally understand.

Let me share one gist that will crack your ribs ..hahaha! Do you know that my friend and I went for a birthday party some years back and didn't eat at all because we were on one yoyo diet πŸ˜‚. We had only water all through the party. This was at a Chinese restaurant. If you know me well, I am sure you will understand what I mean because I not only like food, I love Chinese food....I can imagine your face right now laughing at me... That's ok, please laugh with me tooπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚...

The struggle is real! Hahahahaha! It is also depressing when you remember how you deprived yourself of some yummy food in the past all in the name of weight loss, but looking at yourself now, you are still ‘fat’ πŸ˜’😒.. Don't worry, I will be sharing tips on committing yourself to losing weight.

1. Reset your mindset.

What do I mean? You first need to see weight loss  and fitness as a way of life. You know the way you see yourself making breakfast, having your bath etc.? You need to see weight loss as a way of life too. With that, you won't put any stress on your brain to be fighting on when you ⁹are going to stop this or when will I start living a normal life. So reset your mindset by promising yourself that you will exercise daily or 3 - 5 times a week, that you will eat all classes of food, but in moderation (this food intake bit is very important). Come to think of it , why do we need to eat 2 plates of food or that one plate that can serve 3 people? **Thinking** It's not like we are dying tomorrow or that we will never see food again in this life. Just wondering. Hahahaha!

2. Write down why you want to lose weight.

It may be to look good, for health reasons, to stay fit or because you just ventured into some food supplements business and you need to look the part so people can patronize you...πŸ˜€ We always have our "why" . So state it, paste it on your refrigerator, bed side, laptop, bathroom etc.... It needs to be in your face! With that, you constantly remind yourself the reason for the new lifestyle.

3. Set a realistic goal.

Please don't write "I want to lose 5kg in one month " lol. As an example, if you do detox in the first week of your weight loss and another detox within that month you just started, you may lose that 5kg. But I usually advise you set a 2 - 3kg per month goal. If eventually you lose that 5kg within that first month, then awesome! However, it is always better to set a realistic goal so you don't get disappointed by the end of the month from an unmet goal. Another important thing to note is not to put all hope on scale. Yes, because when you are working out, you tend to bulk up sometime '' muscles'' and it may weigh more so try to use inches to check ,if you can't measure yourself with tape, try using one of your old clothes as a tape, by trying it on to see if you can fit in it comfortably.

4. Accountability Partner.

We all are different. Some people can set this goal and stick to it without any extra push, while some people need that extra push. I suggest you get an accountability partner if you can. A partner has a way of pushing you. An Accountability partner will cheer you up, remind you why you need to continue. Some accountability partners may join in on the programme, depending on the arrangement.

Note: When you have someone you discuss whatever goal you set with, your struggles etc., the person will not only be your listening ear, but also your number one cheerleader. So I recommend you get one.

5. START! START!! START!!!

I wrote this in 3 places because this is the main action, and deserves all the emphasis placed on it. We have talked about all we need to help us stay on the path, so let’s get on it already. I always hear people say, I will start on Monday or I will start on the 1st of the month. No No No! Please don't start on Monday, don't start on the 1st. Start now! lol. Recall my first point - "Mindset Reset". When you say 1st or next Monday, it sends that signal to your brain, which makes it look like you are being caged or you start feeling like someone that has an examination to write. lol...Just see it as a way of life. You don't wait till Monday or the 1st to have your bath or eat, no? So see it same way and start. Then allow the flow.

Please give this a try and share your progress. You can share weekly progress. When I say progress, it's to share updates on what you were able to start and how you were able to exercise 3 - 5 times in a week, ate in moderation, drank your 3 - 4 litres of water, ate your veggies and fruits, slept well too.

Let's apply these tips for the next one month, push for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th month etc.. and boom!! we have a lifestyle right there!

I can't wait to read your update via comment section or share via mail solum.adoi@gmail.com

PS: Let me drop this here.... orange water is one way to stay full too. Lol.
